Saturday, April 22 is not only Earth Day, but also marks the first annual Kootenay Body, Mind, and Soul Expo.

Sisters Tegan Bova and Emma Gourlie are the organizers and creators of the event. Both have a background in health and nutrition. Bova has experience in event planning and owns a nutritional business called FUEL4LIFE Nutritional Solutions. Gourlie is the owner and operator of Ki Flo Holistic Healing Studio, and practices as a Reiki Master.

Bova and Gourlie’s goal is to bring together all of the Kootenay businesses and services that revolve around health, well being, and spirituality, and inform locals of what is available to them.

“There is an unbelievable amount of attention from locals,” says Bova. “People are excited [about the event] and there will be lots going on. There are so many services available that people aren’t even aware of. We want to bring together those services to better inform people in the Kootenays.”

There will be spiritual practitioners, chiropractors, massage therapists, yoga teachers and many more attending. Bova says that almost every business will be speaking or demonstrating at some point during the day. There will be demonstrators, speakers, samples, and opportunities to book with different practitioners in different fields. Bova and Gourlie say, “you do not want to miss this fun, informative, and inspiring event.”

One of the featured presenters is Donna Hart, also known as, The Mountain Medium. She is a psychic, medium, thought leader, motivational speaker, intuitive coach, soul guide, and writer. According to her website, themountainmedium.com, she, “loves empowering and supporting individuals to create a life they love, and giving people the opportunity to see that the other side truly exists.”

The Expo is taking place at the Kimberley Conference Centre from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and tickets are $15 to $30 available at the door, or online at eventbrite.com. Children 12 and under are free. For more information visit the event page on Facebook.
