Contestants and crew from The Amazing Race Canada landed in Castlegar Sunday.

One of their first stops was Chances Casino right next to the airport where contestants approached the cashier’s cage.

“It was so exciting to be in the casino when it happened,” said Castlegar resident Corinne Tamelin who was there eating when some of the contestants rushed in.

It is also the reason that Zuckerberg Island was closed on Sunday.

Crews were at the island setting up tents, cameras and other props prior to the arrival of the contestants.
