Crash on Highway 95A causes significant injuries

Accident occurred during evening commute near Wycliffe

At approximately 5:30pm last night Cranbrook RCMP were called the scene of a collision on Highway 95A by Mission Wycliffe Rd. RCMP noted a white pickup truck perpendicular to the ditch and a Jeep in the northbound travelled portion of the highway.

Search and Rescue crew attended and used the jaws of life to remove the 62 year old female driver from the Jeep. The driver suffered significant but not life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. The male driver of the pick up was also taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

Cranbrook RCMP, with the help of East Kootenay Traffic Services, continue to investigate this collision. Road conditions do appear to be a contributing factor.

The Highway was closed and rerouted while responders dealth with the accident.
