A man who used a baseball bat in a road rage incident on May 27th has been arrested and charges are being considered, according to RCMP.

Police say it appeared that both parties in the incident initially assaulted each other, while on of the drivers retrieved the weapon to escalate the violence. The victim was struck on the arm and the leg, resulting in bruising.

Staff Sergeant Hector Lee says it was an incident that didn’t have to escalate the way it did.

“This was an incident that needlessly occurred due to both drivers provoking each other and one going to an extreme,” S/Sgt Lee said. “I encourage the motoring public to not engage another driver in this manner, however, call the police to report poor driving or if you are being followed, call 911 and drive to your nearest police office.”
