Notice is given that City Council will hold an Electronic Public Hearing in consideration of Bylaw No. 2738 (ZA2023-001) on:

The City of Kimberley is considering a text amendment to Zoning Bylaw No. 1850, 1994 that primarily focuses on the Light Industrial Zone (M-2). Proposed Bylaw No. 2738 modernizes the language and permitted principal and accessory use categories to reflect industrial and manufacturing land use objectives and trends. The proposed changes also limit storage uses and establish new regulations for height, setbacks, parcel area, and landscaping. The amendments will primarily affect all parcels in the M-2 zone.

More information on proposed Bylaw No. 2738 and the accompanying information may be inspected at kimberley.ca/services/planning-development/public-notices until June 26, 2023. The hearing will be available for live or later viewing on the City of Kimberley’s YouTube channel.

How to participate:

  • Submit your comments in writing with subject line “Bylaw 2738” to City Hall (drop-off in mail slot, email planning@kimberley.ca or fax 250-427-5252) by 2pm on June 26, 2023;
  • Share your comments via telephone during the hearing by calling 1-800-741-7180. Please call by 6:50pm to register into meeting number (access code) 2772 853 1840, then enter the “#” symbol when asked for attendee number. You will be able to hear the meeting but you will be on hold and muted until it is your turn to speak; or
  • Share your comments in-person during the hearing.

All submissions will form part of the public record. Council is not able to receive further information or submissions after the conclusion of the public hearing.
