??ALAN JOSEPH EVANCHU

October 9, 1953 – April 20, 2017

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our loving husband and father, Alan, at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital early Thursday morning, April 20th, with his wife and daughters by his side.

Alan was born and went to school in Edmonton, AB. He moved to Vancouver, BC in the early 70’s where he married the love of his life, Bev, in September 1976. They enjoyed more than 40 years of laughs, tribulations and travels through life together. In 1978 they moved to Cranbrook where they brought up two wonderful daughters, Kristy and Courtney. The whole family also spent five adventurous years in Wellington, New Zealand where Alan continued his work as an accountant (CGA).

From a young age Alan liked to golf and run road races. He also enjoyed camping, cycling, reading, and running with the golden retriever. In more recent years he could be found playing pickle ball and traveling with Bev’s and his RV.

Alan was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Jennie Evanchu of Penticton, BC. He is survived by Bev, Kristy, Courtney (Jon) and brother, Dave (Sandie). Also left to mourn are extended family and many friends.

Alan’s service will take place on Friday, April 28th at 11:00 am, at McPherson Funeral Home (2200 - 2nd Street South) in Cranbrook, BC. Interment will be in Fort Steele Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Bladder Cancer Canada organization or the SPCA.
