Mom was called home to her Lord and Saviour with her children by her side on April 6, 2024. She passed away peacefully due to congestive heart failure after a short stay in Hospice care.
Mom was born in Edmonton, Alberta and spent her early childhood years in the rural Ponoka, Alberta area and then near Casino, British Columbia. When she was a teenager, her family relocated to Kimberley, British Columbia where she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Fisher. They were married on March 2, 1957. They raised their family in Kimberley and later after the children had left home, moved to Castlegar, British Columbia where they lived for 10 years before retiring at Marysville, British Columbia.
Mom had a servant heart and was an active volunteer in her church and community wherever she lived. After Dad passed away in 2013, Mom continued to live in Marysville until her deteriorating health prompted her to move to Kamloops in 2019. Mom was a good friend and loving wife and mother. She always made time for friends and family and helped wherever she could. She loved animals and took delight in her trips to visit her many animal friends. She could always be seen with a dog at her side.
Mom is survived by her son, Michael and wife Cheryl, her daughter Joy and husband John, grandchildren, Misty (Brent) Afdahl, Samantha (Matthew) Hardy, Nicholas Fisher and Ethan (Jessica) Elias, great grandchildren, Tatum and Wyatt Afdahl, Dani Elias as well as many nieces and nephews. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Mom was predeceased by her husband, Robert Fisher, brother Alfred Nelson, sister Patricia Cox, and her parents Levi and Helen Nelson.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice for the loving care that Mom received there.
A Celebration of Life will take place August 17, 2024, at 1:00 PM. 55 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, British Columbia.
