Dorothy Bernice Reine
December 8, 1931 - May 18, 2017
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Bernice Reine announces her passing with her family by her side, at the
F. W. Green Memorial Home at 85 years of age.
Bernice was born on December 8, 1931 at the St. Eugene Hospital in Cranbrook, BC to parents Dorothy and Vic
Vincent. She met and married Harold Reine in December 1948 and they were married for 62 years before his passing in 2010. Together they raised 4 children and lived most of
her life in different areas of BC, with a few years away
in Saskatchewan.
During her working years, Bernice was a cashier in
Creston before moving to Cranbrook in 1971, at which
time she started with Canada Safeway. She retired in
1982, due to health reasons.
Bernice volunteered for many non profit organizations
over the years, including Scouts Canada, Girl Guides
of Canada, Rebecca Lodge for many years with their
many programs; president of the Arthritis Society to
name only a few. She was a wonderful cook and hosted
many family dinners. One of her favorite past times was
camping with her children and grandchildren. Family
was extremely important to Bernice and she was always
up for family time, no matter the occasion.
She will lovingly be missed by children Judy (Del)
Ryall, Carol (Jim Reynolds), Rob (Noreen) Reine, Pam
(Frank) Cross; grandchildren Stacey (Mike) Piasta, Erica
(Mike) Miles, Jennifer (Dan) Angevine, Curtis Reine,
Hayley (Wade) Oakley; her great grandchildren Alexis
Piasta, Ewan and Freya Angevine, Austin Oakley, three
week old twins Lucas and Morgan Miles; sister Norma
(Al) Pepper and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bernice was predeceased by her husband Harold Reine
and parents Vic and Dorothy Vincent.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in
honor of Bernice be made to the F.W. Green Memorial
Home, 1700 - 4th Street South, Cranbrook, BC, V1C
6E1.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Bernice will be held
at a later date.
