On Thursday, May 11, 2017, 75 year old Wallace Clayton Dixon passed away peacefully at his home. He was born in Fernie on

?September 26, 1941.

Wally began his working career in underground mining and was buried twice before he decided it was time to leave mining behind. He decided to give self-employment a go – and thus began Bossio- Dixon Sand & Gravel which was a successful business for many years. Eventually, Wally ventured into logging where he would spend the remainder of his career, but his entrepreneurial spirit also found him investing in numerous other successful ventures as well. When Wally wasn’t busy working, or contemplating his next business move, he enjoyed fishing and watching hockey.

Wally is survived by his wife Lynn; his children: Jody (Desmond), Kelly (Chris), Allan (Vivian), Donna, Gary (Susan), and Debbie (Kim); 11 grandchildren: Chase, Alice, Mike, Jamie (Carrie), Tanya (Adam), Maggie, Shyin, Becka, Clayton (Laryssa), Dakota (Geff), and Sawyer; 3 great grandchildren: Brandan, Austin, and Havyn, and his brother Mike as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Michelle, his parents, sister Doris, and his brother Einar.

Memorial tributes may be made in Wally’s name to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
