Kimberley Nordic Team wraps up season

The Kimberley Nordic Racing Team has wound up their season.

The Kimberley Nordic Racers spent the last ten days at the Canadian National Championships in Canmore, AB competing in a total of 4 individual races and 1 team relay event.  The team of five racers competed against 100-125 female skiers from across the   Country.  Highlights include a total of six top ten Canadian individual finishes by Annika Ackermann, Molly Miller, Marielle Ackermann and Sydney Wilson.  The team of Mackenzie McLean and Sydney Wilson also achieved an 11th place finish racing in a competitive juvenile/junior girls relay event. The top finishes of the week were achieved by Annika Ackermann who placed sixth in the classic sprint race and Marielle Ackermann who placed sixth in the 5 k classic race. The Canadian Nationals is the final race of the 2016/17 ski season.  The skiers will now take a one month training break before resuming a new schedule of training that starts in May.  The skiers would like to thank coach Frank Ackermann and wax technicians Chris Bloch-Hansen and Joe Buchar for their support and guidance this past season.
