Purcell Golf will host qualifiers for the Men’s Amateur and U19 Junior Boys Championships this May. Paul Rodgers file.

On May 25-26, 2024 Purcell Golf will once again play host to a qualifying tournament for the Zone 1 East U19 Junior boys and the BC Men’s Amateur championships.

Cost for entry is $100 for Men’s and $40 for Juniors. Tee times start at 8 a.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

All competitors are required to present a current B.C. Golf Handicap card from a Zone 1E member club, or from the B.C> Golf Players Club and reside in Zone 1E.

There are four spots available for amateurs and three spots for juniors. The low gross players will represent Zone 1E at their respective championships: the Boys Junior (U19) at Gallagher’s Golf Club in Kelowna from July 1-5 and the Men’s Amateur at Ledgeview Golf Club in Abbotsford from July 8-12. Payment must be made on, or prior to the entry cut off of May 19.

This is the only qualifier held in Zone 1E for the BC Amateur Championship.

B.C. dress code and RCGA rules apply, and B.C. Golf pace of play will be enforced.

The Men’s Senior Championship does not have a qualifier. It takes place at the Revelstoke Golf Club from July 22-25 and registration is available at britishcolumbiagolf.org/championships

To register contact Paul Mensch, who just recently took over from Creighton Glober as the Zone 1E representative, at 250-430-7872 or bcga.z1e@gmail.com.
