The Kimberley Aquatic Centre held their annual Cardboard Boat Race on Friday, June 22, 2018. The event featured over 15 competitors, young and old, who fashioned boats out of just cardboard, duct tape, and permanent markers.

The Bulletin was a corporate sponsor of the event and Reporter Corey Bullock put her boat, the SS Bulletin, to the test. She placed second in the ‘Corporate’ category, defeated by the Princess of Pedal and Tap.

There were various styles of boats from flat bottoms and catamarans, to canoes and designs that were never before seen.
