And just like that, June has arrived! After a seemingly long and rather cold spring, the day for the Kimberley Art in the Garden Tour is just around the corner now.

The 7th annual Kimberley Art in the Garden Tour is scheduled for Sunday, June 23 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

This year’s event features six beautiful and unique local gardens. The Kimberley Arts Council would like to thank the owners and their partners in crime, for opening their private sanctuaries to visitors for the day. The commitment, creativity and hard work of the garden owners is very much appreciated.

Gates will open earlier this year, and organizers are hoping that the extended hours will give visitors more time to linger, while enjoying all the additional entertainment and activities included in the tour this year.

Organizers are very excited to announce the participation of Kimberley musicians Arne Sahlen and Gary Schneider, each performing throughout the day in one of the gardens, as well as visual artists Beth Magee and Debbie Kammerer painting en plein air at their dedicated locations.

In addition, ticket holders can choose to take part in a hands-on art activity, sponsored by the Kimberley Arts Council. Sarah Shultz, manager of Top Crop Too, will be on hand as a garden resource person, to answer questions about perennials, annuals, veggies, etc along with any other garden related issues.

A perfect finish for the day will be offered in the gallery at Centre 64. Here garden tour ticket holders will be treated to a refreshing beverage and locally made chocolates. While visiting in the gallery, ticket holders can enter their name for the draw of 3 amazing door prizes donated by Top Crop, Interior Seed & Fertilizer and Casey’s Greenhouse.

This year’s event would not have been possible without the help of following organizations and businesses: Columbia Basin Trust, Homegrown Music Society, Top Crop and Top Crop Too, Interior Seed & Fertilizer, and Casey’s Greenhouse. The Kimberley Arts Council would like to take this opportunity to thank all funders and sponsors for their generous support.

Tickets are now available at Centre 64, The Grater Good (cash only), Top Crop Too in Kimberley and Top Crop in Cranbrook ($20 for Kimberley Arts Council members and $22 for non-members).
