Selfie diplomacy! A group of 18 students and two chaperones from School District No. 6 (Rocky Mountain) was in China from May 13 - 22 as guests of the Guangdong Department of Education and the Education Bureau of Yuexiu District in the city of Guangzhou.

A group of 18 students and two chaperones from School District No. 6 (Rocky Mountain) was in China from May 13 - 22 as guests of the Guangdong Department of Education and the Education Bureau of Yuexiu District in the city of Guangzhou. The group consisted of six students each from Selkirk Secondary School in Kimberley, David Thompson Secondary School in Invermere, and Golden Secondary School in Golden. The program was a pilot project designed to inform a model for future student exchanges between School District No. 6 (Rocky Mountain) and Yuexiu Education Bureau which will take place annually under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two school districts in May 2016.
