Kimberley Independent School (KIS) held their 7th annual Science Fair on Wednesday, March 6, 2018. Students from Kindergarten through Grade 7 presented their projects to a panel of judges throughout the day.
Teacher Jaimee Beaupre says the science fair is a great opportunity not only for the students to learn, but to practice their presentation skills as well.
“The students have all worked so hard and they are so excited to share what they have learned,” Beaupre said.
In the afternoon the school also featured interactive booths for the students to visit, with local scientists and companies giving presentations.
The presenters included the Columbia Outdoor School (science and planting trees), Artech Consulting (science and soils), Lori Joe Art (science and art), Green Door Catering (science and cooking), Amateur Paleontologist Chris New (science and paleotology), the Kootenay Community Bat Project (science and wildlife), Ben Turner (science, robotics and programming) and Musician Daniel Bailey (science and music).
