Each year, Kimberley’s Molly Miller takes some time out from her cross country ski training to run a shoe drive to provide footware for people in Haiti. This year’s shoes have been successfully delivered and Molly is grateful for the continued support.
“I would like to send out a very big thank you to my hometown of Kimberley for supporting my shoe drive,” she said.
“The Kootenay Savings Credit Union, Kimberley Helping Hands Food Bank, All Saints Anglican Church and Talaria Footwear and Adornment all supported my efforts by collecting donated shoes. The shoes were shipped to Haiti with the Haiti Arise Medical Team and have been put to great use. I also want to thank All Saints Anglican Church- Mission and Outreach for donating funds to ship the shoes to Haiti. Lastly I would like to thank Dr. Bob Cutler and Simone Haney for overseeing the safe arrival of the shoes and for ensuring that they outfitted Haitians in need. I feel very blessed to be surrounded by so many caring people in my community. Thank you for taking the time to donate shoes to the community shoe drive. I know they will make a difference in many peoples lives. I am truly grateful for your support and participation in my charity that focuses on improving the lives of people by giving them a pair of good quality shoes.”
