Together the Kimberley Novice Nitros and Kimberley Novice Dynamiters hosted a successful 12 team tournament this past weekend, February 8-10, 2013. Teams from around the East Kootenay as well as Lethbridge and Bow Valley showed off their talent on the ice and had a ton of fun doing it. After tight round robin play in three different divisions Friday and Saturday, the undefeated Cranbrook Snap On and Cranbrook Kal Tire teams advanced to one semi-final game while the second semi-final saw the undefeated Kimberley Nitros face off against the Kimberley Dynamiters who battled back from a Friday night loss to claim the single wildcard spot. After a close semi-final game, it was the Dynamiters advancing to the final and pulling out a 7-4 win against Snap On to take home the gold medal.
