The thunder of dozens of motorcycles rolling into Cranbrook in August has become an annual event — the Rolling Barrage.
The Rolling Barrage, now in its eighth year, hits the road every year for a coast-to-coast motorcycle ride. The Rolling Barrage create awareness of the affliction of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and raises funds for agencies that help sufferers of PTSD.
This year’s cross-Canada ride kicked off on Saturday, July 27,in St Johns, Newfoundland, arrives in Cranbrook August 15, and will conclude on Saturday, August 17, in Aldergrove, BC. Supporters are encouraged to register and join the ride along the route, attend local events, and contribute to the cause.
The ride has become a symbol of solidarity and support for veterans, first responders, and those who have and continue to serve our country. Cranbrook has become one of the riders favourite stops.
The Rolling Barrage, in partnership with Military Ames and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 is putting on a Fundraiser BBQ when the ride comes to town..
Everyone is invited to join the riders for this fundraising event in Cranbrook on Thursday, August 15, at 5:30 pm. The event will be held at the Cranbrook Legion, located at the Heritage Inn and Convention Centre.
“The Rolling Barrage is not just a ride; it's a movement and a life-changing journey that brings forth positive strengths, courage, resiliency, friendship, and understanding,” reads a statement from the Rolling Barrage PTSD Foundation. “It's about honoring our veterans and first responders, raising awareness about their sacrifices, and providing tangible support through the funds raised.”
