Music lovers in the area have something new to look forward to this summer as a fresh and exciting R&B ensemble prepares to make its debut.
“The Intended,” a seven-piece band blending classic rhythm and blues with energetic stage presence, will take the stage at the Marysville Pub on June 27th.
This newly formed group features a powerhouse horn section composed of Randy Marchi (trumpet and trombone), Shinobu Murata (trumpet and trombone), and Larry Dureski (alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, as well as flute). The horns are backed by a rock-solid rhythm section with Greg Gomola on guitar, Murf Martin on bass, Tim Plait on keyboard, and Ed Johnson on drums.
Adding another dimension to their dynamic sound are the band’s strong lead and harmony vocals. “The Intended” places vocal performance front and centre bringing new life to the hits of Wilson Pickett, Jackie Wilson, the Powder Blues Band, and Colin James to name a few with each song chosen for its energy, soul, and danceable rhythm.
While this is the group’s first public performance, the members are no strangers to the stage. With decades of collective experience, they bring both musicality and professionalism to their live show, which is expected to be up-close, loud, and a memorable musical experience.
The June 27th show at the Marysville Pub—described by the band as their “favourite watering hole”—offers an intimate venue for locals to experience the group’s launch.
Whether you're a fan of classic R&B, soulful vocals, or just in the mood for a night of great music and dancing, this debut is shaping up to be a can’t-miss event.
