The Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce is pausing their involvement in JulyFest for at least one year.

On Friday, Oct. 25 The Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce announced they will be pausing their involvement in JulyFest for at least one year.

This decision, which according to the Chamber press release was "essential" to their long-term sustainability and success, will affect the annual Bocce tournament, Kids' Zone, the music festival and the annual parade.

"Our primary mission as a Chamber is to advocate for, support and promote local businesses," the Chamber said in the release. "While we recognize the importance of JulyFest as a community event, we believe that focusing our resources on initiatives that more directly benefit local businesses and non-profits is necessary at this time.

"We value the legacy of JulyFest and are open to potential collaborations with interested parties."

The Chamber of Commerce appeared at the City Council meeting on Monday, Oct. 28, with the meeting streamed for later viewing on the City of Kimberley's YouTube channel.
