The Kimberley Farmers' Market (KFM) announced Thursday that they have welcomed Sparta Humphreys as their new coordinator.
"Sparta loves to create good times for the community and talk about all the things, come say hi during the market!" Wildsight Kimberley-Cranbrook wrote in a Facebook post. "Otherwise, you’ll find Sparta struggling up hills on her mountain bike, kicking up dust on Luna, her beloved dual-sport motorcycle, or singing an ode to powder days as she carves the slopes.
"Sparta’s love of adventure took her beyond her beloved Belle Province over a decade ago. Since, she’s played around in Vancouver, Colombia, Banff, and now proudly calls Kimberley home. She has been producing major events for over 10 years and has a strong community background working with nonprofits, board of directors and sports associations."
Humphreys has already been hard at work behind the scenes with vendors new and returning to the KFM. She's now in the process of accepting vendor applications for the upcoming market season, which begins this year on June 19.
KFM runs every Thursday, starting June 19 until September 18, 2025.
KFM was started in 2014 as part of Wildsight Kimberley-Cranbrook's food sustainability initiative, out of a response to the community's desire for better access to locally harvested and sustainable food.
