One of Kimberley's greatest traditions: the Selkirk Secondary Grad Parade in the Platzl; this year on Friday, June 13 to congratulate the Class of '25. Paul Rodgers/Kimberley Bulletin.

As they do every year without fail, Kimberley residents flocked to the Platzl in droves to congratulate and cheer on the annual Selkirk Graduation Parade on Friday, June 13.

Former Selkirk teacher and current MLA for Columbia River-Revelstoke Scott McInnis served as MC for the momentous occasion, after which he shared some well wishes and words of encouragement for Kimberley's Class of '25:

"It's really special for me, not only because I was a former teacher at Selkirk, but I also taught many of these kids in Kindergarten, Grade 1 and 2 at the Independent School here in Kimberley," McInnis said. "It's quite a special time for me. I just wish them all the best; we have such great kids in this community and great families.

"My one piece of advice for them is when you have an opportunity in front of you, don't over think it, just do it. Life's about those great opportunities. I'm so proud of these kids and so happy for them and this was just a great community gathering here in the Platzl."

The Bulletin joins the rest of Kimberley in congratulating the 2025 graduating class of Selkirk Secondary School.
