Local referee Logan Marsh honoured on ice at Civic Centre

Logan Marsh took on the role of Referee in Chief at just 15 years old.

Logan Marsh, a student at Kimberley's Selkirk Secondary School, was honoured with BC Hockey's Most Deserving Award back in June, one of Hockey Canada's Officiating awards.

At the Kimberley Dynamiters' game on Saturday, Dec. 22, Marsh was presented the award on ice at the Civic Centre in front of nearly 1000 fans. He was presented the award by B.C. Hockey Officiating East Kootenay Lead Gerald Hofferd and Kimberley Minor Hockey's East Kootenay representative Stephanie Roberts.

The following, was read out over the loudspeaker on behalf of Kimberley Minor Hockey:

"Logan’s exceptional leadership and dedication have truly set him apart, and it’s an honour to present him with BC Hockey’s Most Deserving Award for his outstanding work as a referee for Kimberley Minor Hockey.

At just 15 years old, Logan took on the role of Referee in Chief for our association — an incredible responsibility that he embraced with maturity and enthusiasm. Throughout the season, he has gone above and beyond, tirelessly mentoring and supporting our younger referees. His passion for the game, unwavering integrity, and commitment to fair play have made a lasting impact on everyone he works with.

Logan has also been a vital part of our board, actively working to recruit and grow our team of officials. His professionalism, strong leadership, and dedication to the sport have earned him the respect and admiration of our entire hockey community. Logan truly embodies what this award stands for.

His tireless efforts on and off the ice, his excellent judgment, and his passion for hockey officiating make him more than deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Logan, on this well-earned honour."
