Amber Alert deactivated

Mother and two girls taken into custody in Boston Bar after being spotted in Golden Wednesday.

The BC RCMP can confirm that BC Amber Alert was de-activated at 5:20  p.m. Wednesday, May 14 as Trina MEISEL, 12 year old Talisha and 6 year old Taya have been located in the Lower Mainland.

With the assistance of public tips and information, police were able to locate them in Boston Bar, BC and all three were taken in police custody and care without issue.

48 year old Trina MEISEL has been arrested in connection with 2 counts of Abduction under section 282(1) of the Criminal Code.

The two girls are okay and investigators are working with the Ministry of Children and Family Development with respect to their care. BC RCMP investigators also continue to work with Major Crimeinvestigators in southern Alberta with respect to their investigation.

Police say the girls, Talisha Meisel, aged 12, and six-year-old Taya, vanished Monday after leaving their elementary school in Brandt, near Vulcan, Alta., south of Calgary.

It is believed the girls may have snuck out of school to join their mother, 48-year-old Trina Meisel, who is the non-custodial parent.
