They saying is, everyone loves a parade, and one Kimberley Councillor thinks Marysville Daze isn’t the same since it hasn’t included the parade in recent years.
Bev Middlebrook says more than one person has told her they miss the parade.
She says she approached the Mark Creek Lions and offered to volunteer to run the parade if they would reinstate it, but they told her it was the prohibitive cost of insurance ($900) that killed it.
Mayor Ron McRae said that perhaps the Lions could approach the City for assistance, or perhaps there was some way to include the parade insurance under another group’s blanket policy.
“Your comments are right on. The parade does make the event,” he said.
