Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Kimberley, Scott Sommerville, was congratulated by Mayor and Council on Monday after receiving two certificates, furthering his education.
Sommerville received certificated for both the Local Government Administration and Local Government Statutory Administration.
Mayor Don McCormick says Sommerville has been upgrading his education over the past few years.
“Scott has been taking courses over the last several years, and over the course of last fall took two courses,” The Mayor explained. “These are university level courses and they are fairly heavy. So it’s no mean feat for him to take on one, never mind two.”
McCormick referenced what the Chair Board of Examiners, Gary Paget, had to say about Sommerville’s achievements, “Scott is to be commended on his achievement which recognizes both his academic qualifications and work experience in the local government field.”
McCormick presented the certificates to Sommerville on behalf of Council and staff of the City of Kimberley.
