Drunk Kimberley female faces drug trafficking charge

Suspect arrested for being drunk in a public place, drugs found on subsequent search

Almost two pounds of marijuana and over $1000 cash were seized in Kimberley after a female was arrested for being drunk.  The officer was advised by a citizen around 2:30 am on Jan 21 of drunk female unable to care for herself. The officer located the female a few blocks away showing strong signs of alcohol consumption.

He arrested her for being drunk in a public place.  For her own safety she was transported and lodged into cells.

A search subsequent to arrest located the almost two pounds of marijuana some of which was packaged in smaller quantities for distribution.  Along with the marijuana was over $1000 cash.  Given the evidence police will be recommending charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.  The 46-year old female from Kimberley will be attending court in April.
