Enrolment on upward trend in SD6

Kimberley Zone is up 21 students, mostly at elementary level

The Kimberley Zone of Rocky Mountain School District No. 6 is up 21.375 full time equivalent students. There are also 78 students at the Kimberley Independent School who will likely move on to the public high school  after Grade 8.

More importantly, the pattern is an increase at the elementary level. For sustainable, stable enrolment numbers you want to see more students entering Kindergarten or Grade 1 than are graduating Grade 12 in any given year.

The final numbers for the 2015-2016 school year were gathered on October 2 and they show a total of 1,083 FTE students in Kimberley; 1,154 in Invermere (up 22 FTE) and 836 in Golden (up 14.5 FTE).

Kimberley has 21 students in the Alternate School, Lindsay Park has 183 students, Marysville Elementary - 159. The Rocky Mountain DL program has 24.375 FTE students. McKim, which is Grade 4 to 7 has 325 students and Selkirk has 370. In the Selkirk numbers, 146.25 FTE students are in Grade 11 and 12.
