The Kootenay Performing Arts Company has regretfully cancelled the Classical Enchantment gala scheduled for this weekend.

KPAC executive director Tony James says the gala featuring violinist Pablo Diemecke and ballet dancer Sarah Murphy-Dyson had to be called off due to lack of ticket sales.

Anyone  who did purchase a ticket for the Saturday evening gala at the conference centre is asked to contact the box office at 250-427-4080.

A fundraiser for the company  is being planned for October 11 and 12. The fundraiser, ‘The Way We Were’ will feature the music of Barbra Streisand performed by Diane Pancel. The event will take place at Centre 64.

Canadian born, L.A. based singer Diane Pancel is a seasoned artist, performer and songwriter, drawing inspiration from her Portuguese/Hungarian background to give her music a strong sense of international soul.

This dynamic vocalist was an active member of the Victoria performing arts community for many years. One of Diane’s many passions is the theatre where she has performed in such shows as Broadway in Burbank, HAIR, Love Matters; Cabaret at the Met, The Songs We Sing, and for two years was a featured singer in the Butchart Gardens’ Showtime.

Involved in the jazz & blues scene, she has worked and shared the stage with such artists as David Foster, Nelly Furtado, Matt Dusk, Anna WIlson, Louise Rose, Morry Stearns, Misha Tsiganov, Tobin Stokes and the late Linton Garner. She also was 1st runner up to the CCMA Singing Competition which gave her the opportunity to work and record in Nashville with such artists as Garth Brooks’ fiddle player Rob Hajacobs.

Diane has wowed audiences across Canada and the United States. Weather she is in the studio doing voiceover or working on her own projects, this artist is in demand.

Tickets for the fundraiser are available at the KPAC box office and by calling 250-427-4080.
