Howard St. Farmers' Market just two weeks away

Thursday evenings throughout the summer featuring sustainable local food

In just two weeks, Kimberley’s first farmers’ market will open for its first Thursday evening session on Howard Street. Thursday, July 3 is opening night and the markets will run every Thursday evening from 5 p.m  to 7:30 p.m. until September 11. Just a reminder to motorists, Howard Street will be closed to traffic from 3:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

The markets are a Wildsight initiative promoting sustainable local foods and quite a selection of local farmers, gardeners and ranchers will be on site including:

Winderberry Greenhouse/Edible Acres: organic garden vegetables

Cutter Ranch: lamb, pork, tomatoes and cucumbers, garlic and garden vegetables

Kelly Diamond: eggs (hormone and antibiotic free), organically grown garden produce, honey

Ishnadev Niwas Farm: European leavened artisan Bread, eggs, honey, vegetables, herbs, garlic and berries in season

Kootagonia: seasonal vegetable produce and berries

Sunpower Farm: garden produce grown with spring irrigation and solar power from an organic garden.

Wild Hucks ‘n’ Stuff: wild harvested huckleberries, rhubarb, mushrooms, locally roasted coffee, hand-tied flies, arrowheads

There will also be hot food available from the following vendors:

Mountain Range: fresh curries, baked goods, frozen entrees and cold drinks

Sugar High Mini Donuts: mini donuts, lemonade, coffee and hot chocolate

Smokey Bros: smokies, poutine, burgers, veggie options and salads

Artisans:

Tumbled Earth/Stellalissa: jewelry, earrings, bracelets, anklets & necklaces

Dirt, Light, Shadow: jewelry, pottery, cards, chopping boards, clothing

Paper Garden: beeswax, soy and rock candles, wooden candle holders, pretzels, stroopwafels and gluten free baking

Kim Leishchner: handmade gemstone jewelry

Two Sisters Jewelry: handcrafted beaded jewelry

Light Steps: knit woollen baby slippers

Irie Bodytonics: essential oil products, atomizers, bath + body oil, synergies, aromarollas
