Iron Legs is coming

The Bavarian Iron Legs Quadrathlon requires downhill and cross country skiing, cycling and running

It’s been a tradition in Kimberley for the past 30 years, and the 31st rendition is set for March 29.

It’s the Bavarian Iron Legs Quadrathon — an extreme test of fitness involving biking, running, cross-country and downhill skiing.

Competitors will downhill ski two kilometres, cross-country ski five kilometres, run for four kilometres and cycle four and a half kilometres, all for the right to call themselves Iron Legs champion.

It’s all happening at the Kimberley Alpine Resort on Saturday, March 29.

You can race as an individual, a mixed team of four members or a children’s team. Waivers must be signed and helmets are mandatory for ski board and bike.

You can download a registration form here and email it to events@skikimberley.com or print it out and bring it into Guest Services at KAR. Those registering before March 25 will receive a discount.

In addition to the racing, there will be prizes and a barbecue.
