Hop on the Northstar Quad at KAR this Sunday and ski for free.

The weather outside may be somewhat frightful, but perhaps a day of free skiing and riding may warm your heart. The Kimberley Alpine Resort’s Annual Community Day is on this Sunday, January 8, 2017. This is the day when the Resort says thanks to all the locals who remain loyal to their home hill by opening the slopes for free.

All you need is proof of local residency with a photo ID (driver’s license, pay stub etc.) to receive the lift ticket. Complimentary tickets can be picked up at guest services and are available to residents of Canal Flats, Skookumchuck, Meadowbrook, TaTa Creek, Kimberley, Marysville, Wasa, Wycliffe, Moyie, Wardner and Cranbrook.

In addition, burgers will be available for $2 in support of the Disabled Skiing Association. Just go to Guest Services to pick up your voucher.

Need a lesson? There will also be a limited number of free lessons offered by the Telus Winter Sports School for beginner skiers or boarders.

There will be a total of 10 ski and 10 snowboard spots available, with a one hour lesson starting at 10:30 a.m. Space is limited and guests must pre-register at the Winter Sports School Cabin by calling 250-432-0315. Lessons will include a voucher for free equipment rentals at the Rental Shop. Please note that these lessons are for new skiers and snowboarders only, ages six and up.
