The Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Inc. (RCR) has announced Chrsitine Schultheis as the new general manager of Kimberley Alpine Resort, following the departure of former manager Ted Funston earlier this year.
“I am thrilled to be joining the dedicated team at Kimberley Alpine Resort,” Schultheis said. “I am excited to work alongside the incredible group at Kimberley Alpine Resort and join the wonderful community of Kimberley”.
Schultheis grew up in St-Bruo-de-Montarville, an off-island suburb of Montreal and developed a love of skiing and the ski industry at her home resort of Ski Saint-Bruno.
She has been with RCR since 2010, working under its President and Chairman. RCR said she, “quickly demonstrated her skills in business management and ability to grow initiatives.”
“A ski industry veteran, Christine has a proven track record and will work hard to bring strategic and commercial leadership to Kimberley Alpine Resort,” said John Shea, President, and Chief Resorts Officer, RCR.
“Christine looks forward to leading the Kimberley Alpine Resort Team to deliver value to our guests, employees, and stakeholders, and add value to the community of Kimberley.”
Schultheis worked as a chartered professional in Human Resources and has a degree in Economics. The RCR press release anouncing her appointment said she “established a sense of balance” as she worked in positions with RCR’s administration, HR and OH&S departments; most recently as director of People, Culture and OH&S.
Schultheis and her family are all avid outdoor enthusiasts and look forward to skiing, as well as enjoying the many mountain biking trails and cross country skiing Kimberley has to offer.
