Residents of Kimberley are invited to add their voice to a survey regarding the impacts of tourism on resort municipalities.

Kimberley residents are invited to participate in the BC Resort Municipality Resident Survey.

The purpose of the survey, which is conducted anonymously, is to "better understand the impacts of tourism in BC resort municipalities," according to principal investigator Flynn Saunderson.

In addition to Kimberley, the other resort municipalities include Tofino, Ucluelet, Rossland, Revelstoke, Whistler, Golden, Harrison Hot Springs, Osoyoos, Valemount, Sun Peaks, Fernie, Invermere and Radium Hot Springs.

The research will also assess what impacts residents face, in terms of visitation, plus what these communities are currently doing, or planning to do, to address those impacts.

The research team is comprised of principal investigator Flynn Saunderson and research supervisor Sonal Deshmukh, with the research conducted as part of a Master's thesis within the Master of Community Planning program at Vancouver Island University.
