While they have yet to convene at their first regular Council meeting of 2015 — which takes place next Monday, January 12 — Kimberley City Council has begun Committee of the Whole meetings.
One of the first orders of business was assigning Mayor and Councillors to the various committees and boards which require Council representation.
Those assignments are as follows, though they have yet to be given final Council approval — that will happen on Monday.
Mayor Don McCormick - Regional District of East Kootenay, Kootenay East Regional Hospital Board, Ktunaxa Kinbasket Treaty Advisory Committee, Bootleg Gap Golf Society, Kimberley Recreational Charitable Trust, Emergency Program Executive and the Municipal Insurance Association.
Councillor Bev Middlebrook - Kimberley Community Development Society, Kimberley Public Library, Affordable Housing Committee, Emergency Program Executive, Audit Committee. Middlebrook will also be an alternate on the Kimberley Health Centre Society, Kimberley Nature Park Society and Sullivan Mine and Railway Historical Society.
Councillor Nigel Kitto - Kimberley Community Transportation Committee for the Handicapped Society, Kimberley Nature Park Society, Emergency Program Executive, Parcel Tax Roll Review Panel.
Kitto will be an alternate on the Kimberley Community Development Society, Kimberley Public Library and Liquid Waste Management boards.
Councillor Sandra Roberts - Labour Relations, Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce, Kimberley Arts Council/Centre 64, Parcel Tax Roll Review Panel. Roberts will also be an alternate on the Municipal Insurance Association and Joint Use Committee (School Board).
Councillor Darryl Oakley - Urban Deer Advisory Committee, Join Use Committee, Sullivan Mine and Railway Historical Society, Audit Committee. He will be alternate on the Ktunaxa Kinbasket Treat Advisory Committee, Affordable Housing Committee and Kimberley Arts Council.
Councillor Kent Goodwin - Kimberley Health Centre Society, Kimberley Community Development Society, Kimberley Recreational Charitable Trust, Parcel Tax Roll Review Panel. Goodwin will also be an alternate on the Urban Deer Committee, Mark Creek Integrated Water Management Plan and Kimberley Community Transportation Committee for the Handicapped Society.
Councillor Albert Hoglund - Bootleg Gap Golf Society, Mark Creek Integrated Water Management Plan, Liquid Waste Management and Audit Committee. He will be an alternate on the RDEK, KERHD and Labour Relations.
