Interior Health is advising Kimberley Residents of a temporary closure to the Kimberley Health Centre due to a diesel spill at the facility.

“A weekend power outage promted a generator to come on. Unfortunately, some diesel fuel leaked from the generator, which will require cleanup before the health centre can reopen,” said a News Release from Interior Health. “Interior Health regrets this interruption to our normal services. Patients with appointments will be reschedules, but residents should also take note of the following if they require care during the closure.

“In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1, visit the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, or call HealthLinkBC at 8-1-1 (24 hour service) if you are unsure about your healthcare needs.”

The Kimberley Health Centre offers home health, public health, and mental health services, as well as private physician offices.
