Kimberley hires JulyFest coordinator

Dave Clarke will oversee organization of Kimberley's biggest festival.

At their annual general meeting this past winter, Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce board members stated their intention to grow JulyFest into an even bigger summer event.

To that end the Chamber has hired a coordinator to organize the weekend.

Dave Clarke, a Kimberley native, will be taking the reins, will oversee Bocce, Parade, Civic Centre and retail events for this year’s festivities.. He has an extensive background in event planning with City of Victoria and BC Hockey and Hockey Canada.

“Dave brings his experience and hometown knowledge to bring together the Chamber of Commerce July Fest events,” said Chamber President Darren Close.

Clarke says there are no plans to change any of the popular events, merely to find ways to improve and grow the festival overall.

“I am excited to be back in Kimberley and have the opportunity to be the Coordinator of Julyfest.  The 41st anniversary of Julyfest will continue Kimberley’s legacy by offering the fun and excitement expected for our largest summer event, as well as promote new opportunities to reflect Kimberley’s growth in population and vibrant shopping experience.  I am looking forward to another great summer in this beautiful city” added Clarke.
