Kimberley Job Fair

Job Fair, Kimberley Conference Centre February 19, 11 a.m.

 

If you are looking for work, there is an upcoming event at the Kimberley Conference Centre that could hook you up with potential employers.

The BC Job Fairs are sponsored by the province of BC. These BC Jobs Start Here Job Fairs were held across the province last fall, including a stop in Cranbrook last October. And now the Job Fair is coming to Kimberley.

This is an opportunity to meet with some prospective employers and learn about careers in certain industries.

Attending the Kimberley Job Fair will be:

Rocky Mountain Pro Drivers Inc.- ProDrivers has been training and placing some of British Columbia’s best trained truck drivers for 9 years. We have assisted our students in finding work in all aspects of the Industry from logging trucks to highway haulers to local P&D work.

Sun Life Financial - A leading Canadian-based international financial services company, offering a diverse range of insurance and investment products that meet the needs and goals of our customers.

Teck Resources LTD - Teck is Canada’s largest diversified resource company, committed to responsible mining and mineral development with major business units focused on copper, steelmaking coal, zinc and energy.

Exhibitors include:

BC Construction Association - The overarching goal has been to assist with strengthening and growing BC’s skilled trades sector by enhancing the employment opportunities. STEP creates innovative approaches to partnering between Industry, Service, organizations and Educational institutions to eligible Participants to enter into and progress through trades related career paths.

Canadian Cancer Society - The Canadian Cancer Society was founded in 1938. We are a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life for people living with cancer.

Centre for Arts and Technology - We are a digital arts school located in Kelowna, BC. We have over 15 programs in the digital arts fields, and are looking for those unique students who are interested in combining creativity and technology.

College of the Rockies - College of the Rockies proudly serves the East Kootenay region of the province, providing training in trades and health fields as well as University studies courses.

Ktunaxa Nation Council Employment Services - Ktunaxa Nation Council Employment Services provides employment and training support to Aboriginal people.

WorkBC Employment Services Centre ‘East Kootenay’ - WorkBC Employment Services Centres are located across the province and offer client-centred, integrated services and supports that are responsive, inclusive and accessible. The purpose of the centres is to support British Columbians in getting —and keeping – a job as quickly as possible.

The job fair will also include the touring BC Jobs Start Here mobile exhibit which provides an interactive online opportunity that connects British Columbians with career information, employment services, job banks and local job events organized through WorkBC. This special province-wide initiative is being organized as part of Canada Starts Here: The BC Jobs Plan, the Government of British Columbia’s campaign to promote economic development and job growth across our province.

The Job Fair begins at 11 a.m. on February 19, 2013 and ends at 6 p.m. at the Kimberley Conference Centre.
