Kimberley local food conference this weekend

Places in Grow For It filling up quickly; you can still register online

Wildsight is fired up about the many fresh, local food initiatives in this area and have put together the Grow For It weekend, coming up on Friday, March 15, Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17 to bring all the latest information on gardening and local food production to you.

Whether you’re a new gardener, seasoned green thumb, or passionate foodie, there’s plenty of inspiration and information to be gleaned.

Sunday’s all day Home-Scale Permaculture Workshop with noted permaculture author and teacher Toby Hemenway  is already full but there are a few spaces left for the Saturday sessions.

Saturday features three speakers, Toby Hemenway, Jon Steinman, West Kootenay local food and farming advocate and Alison Candy, Groundswell Community Greenhouse Education Coordinator from Invermere. Michael Kiefer will also present a short piece on local edibles.

This is also a chance to network with other green thumbs and foodies.

To register for Saturday’s session go to http://www.wildsight.ca/growforit
