Kimberley RCMP arrested an 18-year old Kimberley man on Tuesday afternoon, January 21, finding he was carrying cocaine and other drugs.
Cpl. Chris Newel of the Kimberley Detachment says that a search “incidental to arrest” turned up two grams of cocaine along with 11 capsules believed to be amphetamine.
The man was arrested on 4th Avenue (Townsite area) in Kimberley for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Newel says the subject went before a Judicial Justice of the Peace by way of teleconference. He was released on conditions including to be inside his residence from 8 pm to 6 am, report to a bail supervisor and not to possess a cell phone outside his residence. He will appear in Cranbrook Court on February 17.
“Amphetamine is a controlled substance and although available by prescription, it is an offence to sell it,” Newel said.
