Kimberley's OCP process goes on

Still opportunity to have your say on update of Official Community Plan

Last week’s Official Community Plan sessions held at the Green Door, the Timber Hitch and Kimberley Alpine Resort gathered some good discussion and input, but they are certainly not the only chance Kimberley residents will have to put their two cents in.

“I encourage people to get online and fill out the OCP survey,” said Councillor Kent Goodwin. “With all those events crammed into four days, people were just hearing about it when it ended.”

The survey is available at kimberley.ca, just follow the links. Fill it out and you could win a one month Aquatic Centre pass.

Mayor Don McCormick says that it has been a great process so far, but the City needs to do a little education on exactly what kind of feedback they are looking for.

“The OCP is not a rule book, its a road map,” he said.

The City will consult with stakeholders and community organizations as they go through the process of updating the OCP.
