Passengers will be able to borrow and download books before hopping on a flight at theCanadian Rockies International Airport.
That’s provided you have a library card.
The new Cranbrook Public Library kiosk and Cloud Library gives travellers a choice of a broad range of online resources offered through the library, as well as internet access.
The kiosk also includes a book exchange, so travellers can take a book along with them on their travels or leave one for others to enjoy.
Passengers with a library card can borrow and download audiobooks and e-books from “Library to Go” and e-magazines from Zinio through the free Wifi connection.
The airport will also have a general-use library membership for those who don’t have a card, but it only includes the online borrowing portion of the membership.
The kiosk is a joint effort between the library and the airport.
The Cranbrook Public Library is supplying the computer, desk and chair needed for the kiosk, and the airport providing the fixed line and wifi connection as well as additional furniture for the kiosk.
