Here’s your update on golf conditions in the area. Time to break out the clubs.

With the temperature on the way up and the snow on the way out, local golf courses are setting up for the season, with some already open. Cranbrook and the neighbouring area have an abundance of courses to choose from, and something for even the most seasoned golfer. All of the area's courses are surrounded by stunning scenery and plenty of amenities. Of the courses, all but one are set to open by the end of next week and many already have golfers swinging away on them.

Within Cranbrook, there are the Cranbrook Golf Club, Mission Hills and Wildstone Golf Course to choose from.

The Cranbrook Golf Club is now open for the season with both the course and driving range open. The club is reporting great early season conditions and is open two weeks earlier than usual. Mission Hills Golf Course also already has its 18 holes open. Wildstone Golf Course is planning to open its course April 19.

A little further out of town, St. Eugene Golf Resort has set April 20 as its opening day. the resort said that overall the whole valley is in good shape this year, and their course is no exception.

Way-Lyn Ranch Golf Course located between Cranbrook and Kimberley is open for the season.

Kimberley itself has an array of courses. It is home to Trickle Creek, Bootleg Gap and the Kimberley Golf Course. All three Kimberley clubs expressed that the recent cool weather has slowed some of the progress in prepping the courses for opening, but, barrig any drastic changes, should open on their respected dates.

Trickle Creek is planning to open May 10.

Bootleg Gap plans on having nine holes open Friday, and the full 18 holes open April 19, as long as weather permits.

The Kimberley Golf Course is planning to have the front nine open Monday, April 15 and staff hope to have the rest of the course open by April 19 or 20.

In Jaffray, Will-O-Bend Golf Course is already open, and course representatives said it’s been a good winter for a golf course.
