The Kimberley Fire Department was called out at approximately 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning to a fire at Mozart House Restaurant at the west end of the Platzl.

Ten Kimberley Fire Department members and three engines responded to a fire at the Mozart House restaurant in the Platzl Thursday morning.

The Fire Department was able to get the fire under control before any flame was visible.

Kimberley Fire Chief Al Collinson says that the cause of the fire is under investigation but he can say that it started on the main floor in the dining area.

“The building definitely has heavy smoke damage on the main floor and there is smoke and water damage throughout the rest of the building,” Collinson said.

At press time, the Fire Department was still on the scene making sure everything was secure.
