The puck has dropped on the KIJHL season. On Saturday evening, September 14, the Kimberley Dynamiters opened their season at home with a 5-0 win over the Golden Rockets. The ceremonial puck was dropped by Sam Quigley, the oldest living Dynamiter at 89. Sam joined the Dynamiters in 1945/46 and played for five years. This is the first time a former goalie has dropped the first puck.
