A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued by Environment Canada for the East Kootenay, with current conditions favourable for producing thunderstorms that may be accompanied by hail, strong wind guests and heavy rain.
Environment Canada warns that heavy rain can produce flash floods, wind gusts and hail can be damaging to property or do bodily harm and lightning poses a risk to human safety.
The warning also includes Arrow Lakes, Boundary, West Kootenay and Kootenay Lake.
