The sixth-annual Divas, Diamonds and Dames, a fundraising event exclusively for women 19 years old and up, is scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 27 at Centennial Hall, starting at 6 p.m.

Money raised at this year’s event will benefit the Mark Creek Lions Club and the Kimberley Thrift Store.

“We are very proud to support the Kimberley Thrift Store to help provide funds for their new store lift and the Mark Creek Lions Club for the third time as our fundraisers for 2024,” the Divas said in a press release. “We have great confidence that the Lions will distribute the funds raised from this fantastic event with the best interests of our community in mind.”

In the group’s past five years of events they have raised over $14,000 in support of the Kimberley Splash Park, Military Ames, Sparks Youth Group and the Marks Creek Lions Club.

When women enter Centennial Hall, they will be treated and spoiled for the rest of the night, with entertainment including a pole dance fitness demo, a photo booth and a dance party with music provided by Ray’s Music.

There will also be a live bid auction fashion show showcasing gently loved, high quality clothing, with all proceeds going towards the Kimberley Thrift Store’s new lift. There will be plenty of door prizes, a 50/50 draw and prize raffles donated by the event’s donors and sponsors.

Appetizers and tapas will be served throughout the night, with a very special dessert: a chocolate fountain with sugar cookies and fresh fruit. From 11 p.m. to midnight there will be a hot homemade soup served with fresh buns. The bar will be well stocked with pop, spirits, plus Diva Juice — made with vodka — and Devil Diva Juice, which is made with tequila. There will also be both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beer, and wine.

Tickets for the event are $50 and are available at Two J’s Cafe, Our Place, or the Bean Tree. Dress code is semi-formal to formal; definitely an opportunity to dress your best.
