Start thinking bocce, Kimberley

Registration for JulyFest Canadian Bocce Championships now open

It’s called the ‘Best of the Fests’ and with the demise of KIOTAC, JulyFest is certainly the biggest event Kimberley has to offer.

JulyFest is known for many things — the massive soccer tournament, the parade, class reunions and the big dance — but no one can argue that bocce is the anchor event for the weekend.

The Canadian Bocce Championships generally attract upwards of 200 teams, and the bocce pits are the centre of weekend action. No matter what particular event drew you to JulyFest, you will end up in the bocce area at one point over the weekend.

It’s time to get ready for the big bocce tournament, and the Kimberley Chamber of Commerce has now opened registration for the 2013 championships, which take place July 19 through 21.

You can register at the JulyFest website. Just go to www.kimberleyjulyfest.com to register and for more information on all JulyFest events.

Volunteer registry has also begun, and if you would like to help out with the Fest, it would be gratefully accepted. Volunteers run this event and it requires a lot of them.

Ticket sales for the Saturday night Civic Centre dance can also be purchased on the website.

Stay tuned for more JulyFest announcements and follow the event of Facebook.

If you have any questions about this year’s event please email julyfest@kimberleychamber.com
