Still time to sign up for Slopes for Hope

Board, ski, cross-country for cancer research at fundraising event

If you’ve been thinking of getting a team together for the Slopes for Hope event on February 8, but haven’t done it yet, now is the time.

Slopes is schedule for Saturday, February 8 from 9 to 4 p.m. at the Kimberley Alpine Resort and the Kimberley Nordic Trails.

The cross-country element is new this year, allowing more people to become involved. In addition to the Descending Everest challenge, which challenges you to ski the Main Run 16 times, you can opt for the Everest Trek which is a 24 km cross-country skiing challenge. Or you can choose to be an Everest Warrior and do both. All involved a $20 event fee plus a ski pass if you opt for the downhill portion.

You can take on a challenge alone or do it in teams of four. The day includes free breakfast, opening ceremonies, free barbecue for participants, top fundraising prizes and an official after party.
