Taking the pulse of Kimberley's business community

Kimberley Chamber of Commerce to conduct survey to look at challenges, barriers to business

The Kimberley Chamber of Commerce, or more specifically, Chamber Manager Mike Guarnery, will be conducting a Business Retention and Expansion Survey in the coming months.

The Chamber will be conducting the survey as part of their contract with the City of Kimberley, and the information will be gathered and analyzed along with the City’s Economic Development department.

Guarnery hopes to speak with every business in Kimberley, whether a Chamber member or not.

“We will find out what the challenges are, what are the successes, the barriers,” Guarnery said. “What is working and successful, the pros and cons of the business environment from the perspective of business owners.”

Guarnery will be conducting all the interviews one on one. He will meet with business owners at their place of business, at the Chamber office or wherever they like.

He has been calling businesses setting up appointments but encourages business owners to contact him at the Chamber office at 250-427-3666 or by email at manager@kimberleychamber.com

“If you’re in business in Kimberley, I want to hear from you,” he said. “I’ll adjust my schedule to whatever works for you.”

The whole purpose is to spot trends that might encourage business to expand and to stay in Kimberley, and to promote new business.

It will take about an hour to go through the survey with Guarnery. He hopes to have all the interviews down by mid-November.
